Niujie Muslim Food Mall

This Muslim Food Mall is in Beijing's Niujie Street Islamic Supermarket, which is the biggest food and commodity store for Muslims in China today. The sixty-odd stalls here sell Muslim delicacies from Xinjiang, Shaanxi and Guangdong regions of China.

Arabian Beef Cake is in fact a Chinese style cake, but the name is a gimmick at best for local customers. It is so crispy attracting many exotic food lovers! Muslim version of dumplings is as good as the Chinese original. The Time-honored Glutinous Rice Cake Shop and Wei's Cheese Store are excellent too. Rice and jujube cake (甑糕, Zeng Gao) consists of kidney beans and sweet bean paste that are sandwiched in two layers of glutinous rice cakes. It is quite sweet but not greasy.

Address : 2nd Floor, Niujie Street Islamic Supermarket, 1 Niujie Street, Beijing, China.

望德楼清真餐厅
Wang De Lou Muslim Restaurant

This is an old brand of Muslim restaurant in China's capital city (address : 26 Outer Diammen Street, Xicheng District, Beijing City. Telephone : 010-64041818). Mutton and Bread Pieces in Soup (15 Yuan per bowl) is made strictly according to its original style of northwestern China. The bread is tore and put in the mutton soup while you taste it. The mutton is without the strong smell. The fried dishes are also great. Tofu's price is reasonable by the local standard, tastes excellent! However, the attitude of service is not quite satisfactory.
